Elizabeth Barnes is one of the best professors I've ever had. She is one of those teachers who truly cares about her students, wants them to do well, and wants them to feel like individuals. She's very intelligent, very educated, but has a way of explaining things very clearly in a way that makes sense.
The material taught in the class is definitely difficult. The first half of the semester focuses on theories of well being, and the second is more of choices regarding well-being. There's 1 reading per week, in which each of the lectures she spends explaining the article. Though the material can be hard to understand, Ms. Barnes is always willing to take time to answer questions as she truly wants you to understand and learn the material.
There's 2 main essays in the class that you do at home, which seem intimidating, but she guides you through the process.
The class definitely seems intimidating at first, and the material is difficult, so this is definitely not an easy A class, but if philosophy is something you're interested in, I would definitely recommend this class, because Ms. Barnes is amazing and as long as you try, you will get a good grade in the class!!
