PHIL 2510

Professor Akhtar is really nice and very intelligent but the class was not at all like I expected. Most of the people in the class had no prior philosophy knowledge so the class moved very slowly. I thought it would be more interactive discussions but those were usually only in the last hour of the class (it was a 2.5 hour seminar). Midterm is easy and open note. We had an option of a take home closed note final (though you could look at the questions ahead of time so you can prepare for them) or a 10-12 page paper (obviously most people chose the final). Attendance is pretty much mandatory.
