Stacie was my TA for philosophy in the Spring of 2018 and she is a pretty good instructor for Philosophy. She's very nice, caring, and leads fantastic discussions. If you really like this subject I see no reason not to take this course with her. She really is good at keeping people interested and engaged with the topic, but the only thing I have to warn is she is a pretty tough grader, so be sure to take time on your papers and write them with extreme attention to detail, good flow, and with really good arguments.
Professor Thyrion is super sweet. This class is definitely what you make out of it. I really enjoyed and looked forward to going to lecture because she gives students lots of opportunities to ask questions and to give your own opinion. As long as you are actively listening and asking questions, she will really like you and this makes the lecture less boring, since she's pretty much just reading off of her Powerpoint the whole time. The readings are really not necessary, and the textbook they come from is pretty boring, but I'd skim them before class just because it will make you stand out. This class is mixed with people who are really interested in the material and people who are really not, so I'd recommend putting in the smallest shred of effort to at least look like you care. All of the exams are super easy and you just need to study the Powerpoints to get a 100 on them. Professor Thyrion is super nice and accommodating as well, and I'd recommend going to her office hours to talk about any material you might find confusing, since she pretty much lays out exactly what you need to know during them and is really good at clarifying any points.
