Professor MacKenzie is great! She really cares about her students and is a super entertaining lecturer. There are readings before each class but none are too long and you get definitely get ahead on them early in the semester. I think the longest one was around 15-20 pages, but most are less than 15 if not less than 10. Powerpoints are posted after each class, but definitely go to lecture since there are small in-class writing assignments every so often. They are not worth many points but are there to give you a boost; one point for completion and the one for comprehension for each. Her lectures are also just helpful for understanding the readings, which can be confusing at times provided they are philosophical papers. You have one in-class midterm, an interview assignment, and a final essay. She gives great guidance on how to prepare for and complete the assignments so that you do well, so definitely take her advice since these three assignments make up a majority of your final grade. Overall, really recommend this class and Professor MacKenzie!
