Generally not that hard of a class--you learn basic music theory, covering material from intervals all the way to cadences. Reading is assigned but are not necessary to do well in the class. Homework composes a great part of your overall grade, so if you do your work (correctly--it's not just completion!) Pay minimal attention in class, and show up (attendance is a part of your grade too), you will be fine in the course. Alex is a pretty chill instructor and shows fun things and examples in class rather than spending too much time on the dull teaching and whatnot. Overall a great class and I'd recommend it to anyone with some kind of musical background.
