The professor is hard on you if you come unprepared, but the music is for the most part fun. Don't get nervous if you are called out though.
You get the most out of the class if you organize sectionals for a couple hours a week. It's a good way to bond with your section, improve your skills, and play small ensemble/quartet music that interests you
