This class consisted of three discussion questions write ups per semester from the readings, which on average was about 10 pages for each class. The reading is straightforward and Professor McGuire expects class participation, but you can often not do the reading and just connect what other people are saying to real life. There are two case studies which were about 3 pages long each. The final paper is a topic of your choice and is 12-15 pages, which is pretty easy to fill.
The class itself is rather boring as McGuire tends to ramble and go on tangents, often providing book suggestions and giving examples from 30-40 years ago. He doesn't use Collab or email, nor does he use any visuals in class so it is hard to pay attention some days. The good news is that he usually ended class about after an hour.
Take this class if you want a pretty easy class with little amount of day to day work. But just know going in that it is a pretty boring class and if you really want to learn about ethics, I would recommend taking a class in a different field.
