Professor Gazaki was a necessity for what I considered content-wise to be a pretty difficult course. She was very thorough in explaining the theorems and concepts needed, as well as the proofs for each of the concepts and how they connected with each other. She was extremely organized and knowledgeable, completely answering every question that came up during class with a good level of detail. The content itself is abstract, learning about abstract algebra and how we can use that (at least early on) for the algebra we learned in elementary school. The further into the class you go, the more abstract it gets, which simultaneously makes it more interesting yet less tangible. The homeworks were not too difficult, with grades and corrections getting back quickly. The exams were very difficult in my opinion, but she curves graciously. She is easy to get ahold of on Piazza for quick questions, and basically begs for everyone to come to her office hours to discuss the homework and content. I did not and I saw the err of my ways. If you have free time, go to office hours. It is an interesting class, and with Professor Gazaki you get an enjoyable class experience that gives you what you put into it.
