I am writing this in the hopes that it can help Professor Braga become a better instructor, but the way that he is teaching this course right now is not working. Looking at enrollment right now the class started off at 36 and is now at 10 students and there is a reason why. I personally do not come to lecture already knowing all the proofs and theorems but it feels like I have to in order to understand what is going on. I understand that Professor Braga is extremely smart, but that does not mean that I can understand everything he says. Everything gone over in class is also fairly unorganized as everything is coming from his head in real-time and I personally had a hard time following along. There is no textbook reading to follow, or resources to look at except his lectures. He seems like a very nice guy, but the GPA average of a 2.4 also says a lot. For students like myself trying to enter graduate school, this could be a huge deal breaker and make it impossible to try and enjoy the class forget even learning anything from it. I really hope that professor Braga can improve and help his students succeed because even though the class is not taught well, I know that that's his goal.
