I wasn't a huge fan of the professor. I found it pretty hard to pay attention in class and would often have to go over the material again by myself to understand the content. The work itself isn't too difficult though - understand the homework and you'll be more than prepared for the tests. Overall not an awful class, but see if you can take it with someone else if they're more interesting.
Lectures are pretty dull, in my opinion. However, by no means a hard math class. Homeworks can be long and difficult, but not that big of deal (lowest two get dropped). The quizzes in discussion section are a joke. The midterms/final are very straighforward and not hard at all, like medium difficulty homework problems. If you are decent at math you'll be fine in this class. I thought lectures were boring but it was a straight forward class so I'd recommend.
Yen Do takes the time to make sure you understand the material. Don't be afraid to ask questions because he will try his best to clarify it and not make you feel bad for asking something that could be considered simple. There are weekly homeworks that can be a bit long with some complex problems. However, the exams are much easier since he just wants to make sure you understand the material; the problems are not that tricky. After also taking calc 2 with him two years ago, I think he's one of the better professors in the math department.
Yen Do is great professor! He understands that the material is difficult and takes the time to make sure you get it. Very personable, but keep in mind this is a tough subject no matter who teaches it. The homework is extremely rough, and takes a LONG time to do. BUT THE TESTS ARE MUCH EASIER. His approach to tests is "not hard but comprehensive", and that's 100% true. Many will say he's boring, but I found him entertaining to listen to and very detailed. I definitely recommend Diff Eq with him!
