This is an excellent class and Bulent Tosun is an excellent professor. He is evidently very smart, but isn't arrogant about like numerous other Math professors are. Also his cool accent makes it fun listening to him talk.
No homework, but there are suggested problems from the book that really help. The midterms are fair. The final is challenging but the class is curved. Participation/attendance grade based on iclickers. Weekly quizes in discussion section.
I was warned about this class being very hard and I'll admit it does cover a LOT of material, but I loved it. Professor Tosun made it very understandable and was both helpful and polite in office hours. In this class if you work hard and pay attention then you'll learn alot and probably do well.
Professor Tosun is a pretty great professor. He is fun in class and explains the theories and concepts well. Homework was given through WileyPlus, which was pretty awful; however, for most of the semester each homework question had unlimited attempts and after five attempts the solution was given. This was extremely helpful considering WileyPlus is very picky with its answers. There were quizzes given every week during discussion section that weren't too difficult. Neither the homework nor the quizzes helped prepare for the exams; however, a practice exam with solutions was handed out about a week before the actual exam. I would recommend Professor Tosun for this course.
Bulent Tosun is the greatest instructor of mathematics I have ever been taught by. He not only exhibits a profound passion for mathematics and is very knowledgeable, but his passion emanates to the students and encourages them to develop an interest of their own for math. He is also very approachable and super helpful during office hours.
