I didn't really see a problem with Professor Sherman. He gave us "readings" of the textbook that you ultimately didn't have to do if you showed up to lectures, he gives semi-challenging homework, but it's ultimately similar problems that show up on the exam, so if you can do the homework and you show up to lectures, then this class will be very doable.
To start, this was awful. I know there are not many options for good professors when it comes to Probability-- which is very unfortunate because of the majors that require this class (like Stat and Math). He was awful. Grading on homeworks was harsh and not thorough: he would only grade a couple of the questions for accuracy and then grade the rest for completion. No answer keys, study guides, notes posted online. Nothing. Tests were extremely hard and partial credit was barely given. One plus-side to this was that there was a massive curve. I failed all three exams but ended with a C- in the class. I'll take that.
