MATH 2315 was by far my best decision coming into UVA for my first semester. I was enrolled in the normal MATH 2310 but swapped to 2315 before the semester started. Feldo is one of the smartest people I have met. He cares about the material and our sucess in the course and he tries his best to teach us passionately. The material is fairly difficult, especially the multivariable calculus in my opinion. All of the homework and quizzes are take-home, but that means Feldo can give us very challenging problems. Overall I would highly highly reccomend this course to anybody who is interested in diving deeper into the underlying structure of linear algebra and multivariable calculus. Probably the most beneficial course a math major could take.
I enjoyed the class. Feldo is a very approachable and fun dude, but don't get fooled by the fact that this class is all take-home stuff. It was rough. He goes really quickly through the material in class and focuses a lot on proofs. You have to build the intuition for how to solve the problems outside of class, but honestly, given the fact that it's all take-home material, this is doable. Make sure to talk to him a lot outside of class, he is a very smart and friendly person. It was a pleasure being exposed to his intelligence, but the class is difficult.
