Professor Ure is a great professor and I would definitely recommend taking her class! I got an A in the class with pretty minimal effort because she is such a great professor. Her lecture is very structured and she will review concepts from calc 1 and 2 to refresh your memory and tie them to the lesson that day. She really wants to make sure her students understand the material. She assigned 3 assignments on webassign per week and would even give a 10% bonus if you submitted it 24 hours before the deadline, which was not difficult to do. The webassigns were pretty much what we learned in class and provided a lot more types of problems to give more practice. I find the homework in this class very effective, not too time-consuming, and I would not consider it "busy work". As the semester progressed, some of the homeworks, especially towards the end, were more difficult and longer, but they still offered a lot of practice which helped with the more difficult content. Every couple of weeks we would have written homeworks that gave you a good idea of what the exam problems would look like. Her exams are very fair. If you understand the material in class and understand the homeworks, you will probably get a good grade on the exam. After the second exam, the material gets pretty difficult and confusing, but Professor Ure explains it really well and will also spend time explaining it in office hours if you need it. Even if her explanations aren't helping, the textbook is pretty good and gives good explanations and practice problems. There was a discussion portion of the class, but it wasn't really that helpful because the teacher mainly rushed through the topics and made a lot of algebraic mistakes in his work so it made it really difficult to follow. I still went because there were practice problems, but you don't really need to go, a lot of times I feel like I was wasting my time there when I could have been doing work for another class.
