Liron was a really cool and nice professor, but I think I learned the entire course on my own from the textbook. He just went way too fast in lecture and nobody really knew what was going on the whole time. He presented the material clearly and was very thorough in answering questions, he just went really fast.
If you are not a very stronger conceptual math learner than I would strongly suggest that you do not take this course. It was primarily teaching yourself because lectures were just copying problems and the textbook. I came in having never really needing to have studied before for math. This class quickly changed that. It is curved at the end which is the biggest blessing since tests were a little unfair since the weekly quizzes written by the TA were much easier giving you a false sense of confidence.
Webassign and hw every week -takes about 2 hours and is not incredibly hard. Weekly quizzes are not bad just do hw before discussion to prepare. first exam was pretty easy if you studied (review web assign and notes). have not taken second midterm but reviewing for anyone considering class next semester. I had friends in Thomas mark's class who said homework was 40% of grade making tests weighted less. that is also a good option. do not take with jinbo ten (heard horrible things ab him). Liron is not a bad prof; honestly he explains things pretty simply, it just might seem confusing because of notation. read textbook before lectures and you will understand. as I said first test was fair and based off of webassign and notes.
