I'm currently enrolled in this class right now, but I felt the need to do a review just because of how great Professor Obus is.
Here the thing, calc three isn't easy but it also isn't hard. Concepts build on concepts of Calc 2, so remember your trig functions and how to derive and integrate. The first two exams weren't bad if you studied (I did chapter review problems in the book, redid webworks and made a study sheet to remember formulas). The homework are a little long because there are 5-7 book problems with about 18 webworks problems. It doesn't seem like much but it takes a while.
Discussion is a joke-don't go. It's a 5-5:50 class so it took a lot for me to get out after having finished my classes for so long, and I regretted it every time. The TA was awful and the discussion didn't coincide with how the concepts were taught in class.
Professor Obus is literally amazing. He explains everything in a way that makes it so understandable. He writes everything down on the board so you don't miss anything-I've gone to every class and I don't regret it at all. He's sort of a goofball but he's probably the smartest person you'll ever meet. If you look at his CV it's literally 5 pages wrong. His teaching is impeccable-he can answer all of your questions because he not only understands everything he's talking about he goes above and beyond to make are you understand everything. His lectures are very well organized because he has a composition notebook (lol I haven't even touched one since elementary school) of his plans for the lectures which he does previous to every class.
If you don't have to take this class for your major or you're not math oriented I wouldn't take this class, but if you do take it with Andrew. He also teaches upper level math courses so look for him cause he's probably the best professor I've had so far tied with Dave Kittlesen.
