I took multivariable calculus in high school, so I thought I'd take this class as an "easy" course for my first semester...and it still wasn't easy. The material of this class is difficult, and you need to have a strong calculus foundation (this goes for the material in general, not this class specifically). Homework was never too bad, weekly quizzes were fair, the exams were pretty hard, and so was the final. But there's a HUGE curve (I think I had a mid 80s average at the end of the class and it was curved to an A), and simply having Michael Hill as a professor makes it worth it. He's funny, engaging, uses colored chalk (super helpful for this material), has legible handwriting (unlike some math professors...), and is very helpful in office hours. If you need to take MATH 2310 for whatever reason, take it with Hill -- you won't regret it.
