MATH 1320

I had Professor Bourdon for both Calculus 1 and 2. He is very passionate about the subject he teaches, and he is brilliant. Calculus 2 has never been easy but Mr. Bourdon presented it in an enthusiastic way to make it somewhat more manageable. Web assign, weekly written hw. He is very approachable and is willing to extend his office hours if you really need help. The whole MATH1320 staff writes the exams (not Bourdon himself) and they are not easy. Overall, strongly recommend Professor Bourdon!

I took MATH 1210 before this, but MATH 1220 is the usual prereq. I did ok, but Calc 2 is a very difficult class and I would recommend you only take this if you have a strong math background (or need to take it). Bourdon is a good teacher, very helpful with homework, and a fair grader. Exams are hard, no doubt about it, but he offers several study opportunities in advance for each one. I am not a particularly good math student, and I didn't do an outstanding amount of reading the textbook, but I went to class and discussion every single time and did all the homework to the best of my ability. I came out with a C, probably could have had a C+ if I really devoted myself to it. Tough course, but totally doable.
