MATH 1220

The instructor was not very effective. She made lots of mistakes in class to the point where sometimes you couldn't tell if she had made another mistake or if you actually needed help because you didn't understand. The student assistant helped me understand the topic more in 1 minute than the actual instructor did during the entire class. At times she doesn't seem to know what she's doing, and she didn't know the answer to most questions from students. The class itself isn't bad, but I would recommend taking it with a different instructor who will hopefully be better at actually teaching the material.

Jiajun is really nice and a good instructor. She is very helpful during office hours. For this class, we have prep assignments that are due before each class to prepare for the lectures. There are also homework afterwards on WebAssign. There are one quiz every two weeks and due to the short amount of time given (15 minutes), it is difficult. There's no time to check your work. My only complaint for this class has to be the quizzes because it's given at the end of a lecture. Sometimes the lecture run onto the quiz time. There are three exams with the third one being cumulative. Practice exams are provided. There are also 4 written homework that is collaborative. If you have to take a Survey to Calc 2 class, Jiajun is definitely the instructor to choose.
