Math1220 is going to be a difficult class no matter who your professor is, but I thought Mike Reeks did a great job of making the class bearable. He is a great instructor and teaches the material very well, and he's always happy and willing to meet you in office hours to go over material. He provides plenty of opportunities for practice problems before all 3 exams. He may be a bit boring but so would anybody who is teaching Calculus.
The class itself is really not all that difficult if you go to lecture and do the homework. There are 2 midterms worth 20% each and a final worth 30%. The rest of the grades come from online homework and 3-4 scheduled quizzes throughout the semester. The best way to study for the exams is definitely by using past exams with their solutions.
