I am not a math person in the slightest and this was a mandatory requirement for me for McIntire because I hadn't taken calculus before. Daniel got decent reviews but we weren't prepared for our first test at all with a class average around 70 and a high score of 90. The test questions were harder than most problems on the practice test or homework assignments, and he used a question that referred to something we barely glanced on for a minute in lecture. So far I haven't been very appreciative of him or his teaching methods. Also, webassign (the homework system) is evil and he only allows five tries per question, which can kill people because the site is picky about how you put your answers in, which wastes lots of tries. You could have the answer right and be told you're wrong anyway.
Also, this class is a target for those who really don't like or want math, so there were a lot of embarrassingly stupid and annoying people in this class who preferred to talk about the parties they were going to than actually learning the material- after being given an example problem to try, and i quote, a *third year* girl near me whined, "Why doesn't he just put it up on the board for us? I don't like to thinkkkkkk..." I would consider her average for the class.
