Michael is a grad(?) student, so not a professor, but he's really smart and does a great job of teaching this class. If you have to take this for a prereq or something else, try to get him as your teacher. I took 1210 because there's no discussion section, but there are multiple P2L (peer tutoring) optional sections you can attend every week taught by students who have taken the course before if you need more practice or have random questions. You can also go to his office hours if you want some better-informed help/advice. Grades are based off "minute" papers which are just quick one-question sheets you fill out at the beginning of all classes, WebAssign/Gradescope assignments, and like 5ish assessments. It seems like a lot but is very doable and the assignments are quick. You do have to pay like $100+ just to access the webassigns though which is really annoying imo because there's no way around it (you can't just find a pdf of textbook). I took calc in high school but never took the AP test so did not get credit, and I've gotten 100% on every test so far this year. I think it might be a bit difficult if you have absolutely no experience or background with calculus, but the style of the class is very similar to one in high school (no laptops, worksheets handed out every class, and you follow along with teacher/work with classmates) so it's chill.
