MATH 1210

😐. Took AP Calc AB in high school. I wish I could go back and bully myself into paying attention more. This is supposedly the easier of the calc I courses at UVA but the way it is taught is so gosh darn frustrating. Classes are taught by grad students, who know the material, but sometimes struggle with conveying it to students. My advice if you have to take this class is to find a group of people in your section to check homework with and go to office hours. P2L sessions kind of helped but more often than not we only got through like 2-3 problems. It was a lot of definitions of math rather than equation and applications, which isn't bad itself but I really just wanted the equations and do my work without writing proofs for everything. They like to see work done in a specific, methodological manner and it shows when they grade your work. Good luck.
