Professor Crawford is an enthusiastic and effective lecturer. The daily homework assignments force you to stay on top of the material so the many quizzes, both scheduled and pop, aren't too bad. At first it seems like there is an overload of graded material, but in reality it's nice because you can blow it on a few and not worry about it.
Professor Crawford is one of the most endearing people that I have ever met. She genuinely enjoys teaching and it rubs off on you as long as you aren't too cool to let it. The course can be slow at times, particularly if you have a solid background in other languages. Everyone should have Latin before they graduate from college.
I would not recommend this to anyone who isn't a master at learning languages. Also very annoying that it's a beginners level class but it's FILLED with people who have taken up to AP Latin. They're obviously in there for an easy grade and they cause the class to go very fast because the teacher thinks everyone knows everything. If I could pick my language req over again, I'd pick French or Spanish. They are a lot easier. The amount of work that needs to be put in for a true beginner is a lot to get a B+ or above.
