She was a tough instructor, but a very nice person once you get to know her. As long as you show devotion to learning, she is understanding. She will definitely make sure you know your vocab (around 30-75 words every vocab quiz) , and while it is tough, it does work. I recommend her for people who have already had learning experience in korean. For those with no background, be ready to struggle with success. If you want to get ahead, purchase and read over some of the textbook beforehand. Get some practice with the grammar and all. Reading comprehension is HUGE in her class. She uses questions from the textbook and the slides for her exams, so studying those before the exam is extremely helpful. Make sure you review the summer before her class. This class is worth far more than 3 credits, but you get a good grasp of korean because of it.
At the essence, she really cares about her students and wants what is best for them. The grade is mostly the vocab quizzes, exams, and what is called listening and speaking and the reading and writing assignments. The class is very dependent on the homework and readings, which as long as you are really reading and understanding the passages, you will do fine. Though it was difficult, the work was more minimal compared to lower level classes because the expectation of comprehension is already met.
