I took this class in Fall 2025, but it wouldn't let me select that.
I decided to take this class to be an easy buffer between all of my STEM classes and I've had experience stage managing before. For the first half of the semester, we would do essentially nothing during class time and submit weekly stage manager worksheets that would culminate into our final project of a prompt book.
There would lesson plans/structure in the syllabus but we would rarely follow that, instead being surprised during every class of what exactly we'd be doing. There were also several occasions where we showed up to class and she (or her guest speaker) would not be there.
The final project was really chaotic as she wanted us to print out an entire script of our choosing and write blocking for 40 pages, as well as printing out all of previous assignments and correcting them as needed. I spent over $50 on this prompt script and over 20 hours in December blocking the way she likes it (on a separate piece of paper with numbers on the actual script). It was insane how long it took and no one in our class actually enjoyed doing it.
Only take this class if you're actually committed to the drama major or stage management. Never taking a class in the Drama department after this.
