Professor Annunziato is a fine professor, but the class definitely leaves something to be desired. At times the content of the class felt pretty out of touch with college students and current events. For instance we spent a decent amount of time covering coming of age through cinema, literature, and... anti cyberbullying efforts in Italy? Nothing wrong with talking about this of course, but, as a college student, I would've much preferred to have covered the prime minister elections in Italy or anything having to do with current events there. In the course there are maybe 8-10 movies you watch and, while this sounded fun at first, many of the movies feel quite randomly selected and are not very good. Would've liked to have seen more lauded movies from Italy than the mix we got. In-class discussions were about on par for a language class. Expect being called on in class to speak everyday, as the class goes in a circle answering homework questions and responding to prompts.
All that being said, Prof. Annunziato is very kind and flexible. She responds quickly to email and also grades things very fast. Overall a quite average class, but not difficult at all.
