Seabrook is a great teacher and makes the course content interesting. She's very open to suggestions during the semester and doesn't hesitate to move around assignments, lectures, and presentations when needed. You definitely need to put in work in order to get an A in the class. There are several essays, presentations, and extra credit assignments that you need to do. However, as you can probably tell from the average course grades, it's not difficult to do well!
Seabrook is a fantastic professor for the course. She is caring and is always willing to change plans if there is a big change to the class schedule or a weather emergency. Overall, Seabrook is a great professor who really cares about her students, and she always made sure to help whenever she could or whenever I needed help in the class. My one recommendation is do not forget to go to the extra credit talks early on in the semester so you do not have to cram for the class. It makes your life easier if you take all the assignments very seriously and get good grades, so you do not have to make up for poorly done work later on in the semester. Take the class with Seabrook, I fully recommend!
She is a good professor, very caring and all.. nice ,sweet.BUT THE GRADING SYSTEM IS HORRIBLE. wdym i have to earn 2 high passes in individual assignments AND attend 4 extra credits to get an A . and the extra credit , you had to write a page for the extra credit talks. It makes no sense, yes shes lenient but i feel you shouldnt judge based on HIGH PASS, PASS AND FAIL. and the thing that didnt make sense is that if you failed you can retake and get a pass.. but if you get a pass.. you cant retake and get a high pass. She just needs to work on that.
Professor Seabrook is so kind and engaging. This course can be very work/reading heavy depending on the professor, and I 100% recommend taking this class with her. She really loves the content she teaches, and truly believes in being accommodating and flexible with students. Her class felt like a break from all my other ones, but I still felt like I learned a lot. She does a lot of group work and discussions, and the course is kind of based on what topics the students want to learn more about which is really cool. There's some reading but nothing long, and the grading system is not the typical one. She does a "fail, pass, high pass" system where you have to get a certain number of "high passes" to get an A. A big part of her class is attending extra credit guest speaker presentations, and there were some AMAZING ones this year. Her class is really one where you get out of it what you put into it. It was such a great class!
