*Note: I took this in Spring 2022 when it was named PHYS 3559; I'm copying my review here* I took this class the first semester it was being offered, so I'm sure it will go more smoothly in future semesters. We had seven graded assignments every week (a homework, two pre-classes, two in-classes, and two quizzes). The good news is that each assignment is weighted lightly, but be prepared to spend a lot of time doing work for this class. By the end of the semester I think most people were behind on submitting assignments. But if you stay on top of assignments, you will learn a lot. I also highly recommend going to Prof Sackett's office hours, he is very helpful (especially for homework questions, which were challenging). Exams were alright, we did a practice exam the class before, and the real exam was usually similar. This is a good class for learning physics-relevant math, and I liked that we covered a variety of topics (complex numbers, linear algebra, tensors).
