TAs make or break the class. Lectures can be boring and repetive, especially on the tangents

Interesting material, but long, somewhat incohesive lectures that can be real hard to pay attention to/follow. If you love Am. History, it's a good course, but you've got to love it or else you'll be bored out of your mind, because I didn't find him to be a good lecturer.

Good way to fulfill historical studies requirement. Kett makes funny comments and the tests (2 midterms & a final) are easy.

Mr. Kett is one of the University's greatest lecturers. When coupled with the quality of the course's T.A.'s and readings, he will challenge the depth and breadth of your previous American history overviews. Highly recommended.

The lectures were enjoyable sometimes. Pretty much you have to read everything he gives you which is a ridiculous amount. If you like history, then you should take this course, but my experience was ruined by the awful T.A.

I'd say this class was okay overall. The lectures were interesting if you paid attention. Sometimes it was hard to keep up with taking notes. There was a lot of reading though. And you had to do the reading to be prepared for discussions which were a significant part of the overall grade

Amazing class. Professor Kett is a great lecturer and his midterms and finals are manageable if you attend class and read the assignments.
