This class is no mulligan--it is truly meant for those with minimum a year's experience playing guitar. Class itself if fun and not too difficult, HOWEVER, the hard part of class occurs at home. Each week has a 2-3 minute video assignment where you must complete multiple exercises in one take. Some of the included exercises are given beforehand after class during the week. IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to complete the recommended (non-assigned) homework during the week in order to make the video assignment possible. Attempting the video without practicing it beforehand will lead to it taking up to 5 hours to get a good take. The recommendation to practice the assigned exercises for an hour each weeknight is necessary to make the work bearable.
Professor Rosensky is nice and fun. Even though he does like to pick on students, he was absolutely correct with every criticism he gave (he picked on me in front of the class constantly but was right for it every time). He requires that everyone plays in his class a certain way (foot tapping, metronome, using a pick, counting beats, etc) and does not compromise but if followed his requirements will help improve playing.
TLDR: Practice an hour MTWTH exactly how he wants you to and this class will go smoothly and enjoyably (Easy A). Don't and this class will be the hardest of your semester.
