awesome teacher, good sense of humor...if you put the time in you will be rewarded

Haines is great and knows a lot about the subject. His CIA history makes this class and the anecdotes he tells extremely worthwhile. Take it!

Haines really made lecture enjoyable and really knows his stuff. Class material is made more interesting because rather than focusing on traditional American view, it delves into other perspectives. Definitely a good class for everyone to take while at UVA. The only downfalls were the amount of readings and the paper. However, the readings were usually interesting and you have all semester to do the paper.
