Professor Haines is extremely enthusiastic and very easy. Gives study guides for midterm and final...if it's not on the study guide, it's not on the test! Lots of reading, but really you only need to go to class to do well. He makes it easy to pay attention! Only downfall is a 15 page paper, but you have all semester to do it.
i liked the class. it was good because a lot of this stuff is not touched upon in most american history classes even though it's all pretty important. at the beginning of the year he would put outlines of his lecture on the board saying that he wouldn't after a while, but he continued to do so the rest of the semester. the outlines made it really easy to follow along in lecture and know what is important. a lot of information. the exams, like most exams in the college are ids and essays. not too hard of a grader. haines is obviously passionate about what he teaches.
Great class. Professor Haines is a really enthusiastic, incredible lecturer. He really knows the material, and classes go by really quickly. The midterm and final are really easy especially because he gives you a study guide beforehand. The paper is the only somewhat difficult thing and that's only because the entire class puts it off until the last week.
