Prof Johannessen's Politics of Development course was extremely formative for me as student interested in development. Prof Johannessen is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter and class lectures were extremely engaging. The first half of the course focused on the history of development with the second half covering the current landscape of development. Assignments felt purposeful in their design and aim, and you have the chance to tailor your assignments to a country in the Global South you are particularly interested in. Highly recommend for students interested in learning more about development or matters of international inequity or the global system in general.
