Highly recommend taking this class!! If you are planning on going into healthcare at all, this class is super interesting and relevant. It requires very minimal outside work, and the exams are all online and pretty much directly off of his PowerPoints, so just look over the ppts a couple days before and they're an easy A. He also gets some guest speakers to come in a few times throughout the class to talk about their own experience with health disparities, and those have honestly been some of the most interesting classes I've ever attended. Readings are not necessary, and there is no outside work except for an end of the year essay and project, but it is super manageable and also interesting which makes it easier to do. Overall, a great class and super interesting. Damon is also a great professor and really cares about the content and student success, which is always nice.
Damon is a great professor, and this class is important and enjoyable to take. It is a pretty easy class and the tests are very straightforward. There are no trick questions and there is one group project, but you get to pick your group members. There were also smaller group projects but you were graded individually on the part you did so your grade wasn't based on others. He is an extremely friendly and welcoming teacher. I would definitely recommend it for pre-health care and kiness majors. Its a great easy elective.
Very boring lectures but you have to go at least to the group presentation classes because he uses the different groups powerpoints for questions on the test. He is a great instructor, but kinda made fun of himself throughout the entire semester which was just awkward for students in my opinion. He loves to connect with students and is really supportive though. The grades are literally tests and two projects so not many grades. Memorize the graphs and statistics too because they will be on the exams!! Pretty easy class though overall.
