HIEA 2031

This is the best course I have ever taken at UVA. Professor Reed is very acknowledged in Chinese history. His lectures are always so interesting and never bored me out with all the different historical stories and his own experience in China. The reading can be lengthy and skippable but it will be helpful during discussion. This grading is not harsh, it's composed of three exams, one paper, and participation. The study guide is given before the exam, and you should probably find someone to work on it together or finish it by yourself because the exam questions are exactly like the study guide. All you need to do is copy and paste it into the exam on the exam day. I am not familiar with Chinese history, and did my best I get an A- and nearly an A in this course. I love this course, and wish Professor Reed a happy retirement!
