I recently took Professor Wright's Machine Learning course and it was an incredible experience. He was an effective instructor and provided a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the subject. He was incredibly patient and understanding when it came to answering questions and providing help. He was also able to explain the concepts clearly and effectively, which is something that can be difficult to do when it comes to machine learning. He was also very encouraging and supportive throughout the course, which made it a pleasure to learn from him. I would highly recommend taking this course from Professor Wright as it is an easy A and you will gain a lot of knowledge and understanding from him.
I didn't really know what to expect going into this class, and it definitely felt a bit all over the place in the first couple weeks. We went from very basic coding labs in the beginning to full on machine learning algorithms that even some of the CS majors I talked to in the class said they hadn't done before. However, Brian ended up being really flexible and understanding that people were confused. He would move around deadlines, give extensions, etc. I think he also said that he'll be doing things differently next time he teaches the course. another thing, a lot of CS majors in the class, I'm econ and felt sort of lost at times, but Brian's office hours were really helpful. We had Anna as our TA and she would give very vague advice in Office hours vs. Brian who would meet you where you are and help you with the code step by step if that's what you needed. His example code was also always super helpful
