Reed is the man. He makes this seminar super chill and he’s a very likable guy. The class never went the full 2.5 hours. He usually let us out at an hour and a half and sometimes earlier. The reading is not too bad. The books he picks are all very informative and easy reads. But most of all, you learn a hell of a lot about China. The topic for our seminar was students in China, so I feel like we learned an insane amount about student protests in the 20th century that’s led China to be the way it is today. Def recommend taking this class!
Brad is the man! He was so nice and accommodating for the pandemic changes. class is 2 hrs but he lets you out early if everything is covered. there are weekly reading assignments you need to complete to be prepared for discussion, but i honestly did fine just from skimming and highlighting the important events you need to know for the next class. Definitely try to get some thoughts out because your grade is based on participation and then your final project, which can either be an essay, powerpoint, documentary, or you can propose another option to him too if you'd like. you can choose to do it alone or with a partner. I ended the semester with an A without needing to try super hard for the class. it was a really easy-going class with a professor who was super down to earth. His precious cat popped up every now and then on the screen and warmed us up too!! take it with him you wont regret #tCFspring2021
