I actually had him for the fall of 2022, so I will just put that out there. Today is the last day of class, and I can say I am looking forward to it being over. Conner is a super nice guy, I think his intentions are in the right place, but he is an awful teacher. It seemed like a situation in which he is very knowledgeable but does not understand how to diffuse that knowledge to his students. He is a grad student, and I definitely think he can become a great teacher one day. But I would strongly not recommend taking this statistics with him. Our grade was made up of 5 hw(15%). and 2 midterms (20%) and a cumulative final that was 45%. There was no prep for any of the test (besides the hw you had already turned in). Yeah, not much more to say, definitely not ideal, It has probably been my least enjoyable class (and I had Charlotte Hoops the first semester she taught Foundations of Commerce), not in terms of content, because I think the material could be super interesting if taught in the right way but just in terms of how it was taught. Also, I only put a 4 for difficulty not because it should have been super difficult, we just lacked practice for the midterms.
Also, if you're reading this, and you think this is a one-off comment this class won't be to bad, I would reconsider, I think most of the class would agree with the sentiment I am writing here.
This class was relatively low stress throughout the semester (the only outside work was 5 homework grades), but it wasn't particularly interesting or engaging and I hated the way our grade was made up: 15% homework, 20% for each of 2 midterms, and 45% for the final. The homeworks were manageable, there were sometimes tricky questions but Connor was happy to help during office hours and the lowest grade was dropped. The midterms weren't horrible, but it was hard to know how to study for them and there was always a question or two that tripped me up. You're allowed a cheat sheet for each of the midterms and 2 sheets for the final which is helpful. My biggest problem with this class was the final. I used the homeworks to study but still ended up lost on several questions which was frustrating given how heavily it was weighted. Lectures seemed to mostly just be the notes being rewritten on the board, so I wouldn't stress about going. Overall, I liked Connor but not his teaching style and wish the workload/grade distribution was more spread out through the semester.

Honestly Connor was a great guy, but I would not recommend taking this class with him. Each class was just him rewriting the notes on the board and he never really explained past what was already on the online notes. The homework was relatively easy and free points, but was only 15% of our grade. For the two midterms, that were both weighted 20%, the averages were mid-Cs. He didn't really tell us what to study for the midterms other than the homework, but we were allowed to use cheat sheets on the exams, which was pretty helpful. The final was 45% of our grade and we didn't get much of a review for it, which made it pretty difficult because it covered a lot of content. The questions weren't incredibly difficult, but there would always be a few tricky ones that weren't really covered in the notes. If you take this class, you should expect to teach yourself the material because his lectures aren't the best, but it is doable if you put the work in. Hopefully in the future Connor can teach the class with more structure and support.
