Professor Schmid was great!! Hes a little qwirky but soooo nice and flexible and also enjoyable in class. I took the section on german fairytales and also got it to count for my second writing. only wrote 3 short papers and had one project.

Professor Schmid is fantastic. Not only does he really care about the subject matter, but also about his students; he really wants his students to engage with the material and be interested in what we are discussing, so he is willing to change the syllabus to reflect the class's interests. Also the work is a reading response every week (1 page double spaced, graded for completion), 2 6 page essays (on whatever you want to write about related to serial media) and 1 10 minute presentation (again on whatever you want to talk about related to serial media). Schmid is a super easy grader, and the class really lets you adapt the work to what you are interested in! (also it is taught in english, no German). Also, it only met once a week for 2.5 hours, and an hour of that was watching an episode of some Netflix show. You get college credit to watch Netflix.
