GETR 3590

This was the first time that Scholz was teaching this class; that being said, this class was amazing! I learned about the field of linguistics, something I never really looked into before (I'm a math major, but this satisfies the Second Writing Requirement).

The work in this class is manageable (the only real commitment was a project on the topic of your choice in linguistics). Readings are optional, and the class is mostly a discussion forum where Scholz will present a topic and allow students to talk about it. Very valuable class!

Super easy and also interesting class! Definitely recommend taking it! She fosters a lot of discussion which makes it even more fun to learn it. You can easily take it if you have no prior experience in linguistics as long as you are willing to look up a concept once in a while or before the midterm.
