I took the class on Victorian Crime and Punishment. This was one of my favorite classes I ever took at UVA! Professor Vasington is the sweetest, most intelligent and accommodating professors. It was my only class I took in the English department and I hit the jackpot. Everything taught in this class, ranging from Sherlock Holmes, the Wire, the Strange Case of Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and other Victorian fiction novels were soooo interesting and engaging. I loved reading these novels and doing the assigned essay afterwards. The class discussions were often fruitful and everyone spoke since it was a small class. Highly recommend this course!
