This is a great class for English students or anyone trying to fulfill their second writing requirement. The way this class is graded is with a system called "specifications grading" which may sound odd, but it honestly makes it much easier to earn an A. The way it works is that you have to complete a certain number of assignments in separate categories that must "meet expectations" in order for them to count towards your final grade, and in order to earn an "A" you'll need to complete more assignments than if you wanted a "B." It's pretty easy to meet expectations (which are given for each assignment), but its good practice to start on your homework earlier in the semester rather than later so you have enough time to complete everything just in case something doesn't meet expectations. You read 6 renaissance plays over the semester and write 4 essays. The workload is very manageable and professor Streifer is always willing to help you. Professor Streifer is super nice and gives all students a chance to participate and speak up while still inspiring interesting class discussions.
