ENGL 2500

So I have really conflicted opinions on Professor Berkowitz. I really enjoyed her class (Queerpocalypse, or the Gay 90s!) and the topics that we discussed, but what I struggled with was her "so what?" focus with the class. When writing essays, she cares about putting the introduction and conclusion, and the essay in general, in the context of the book and only the book. You can't make generalizations or talk about society, but you have to be very very specific and only make claims that you can prove. I really struggled with this, but if you go to office hours, she is beyond helpful and will guide you to where you need to be.

She is also super lenient on paper extensions, you just have to ask her in writing 48 hours before the due date, so it's very nice to have.
