Potentially this professor's only time teaching CS 3710, since he is an ECE professor that seemed more dedicated towards teaching his other class (ECE 4435). The professor is really cool once you get to know him, but given that this class was at 9 AM I don't think many people did. The grade consisted of labs and exams. Nearly all of his content and material came from "Computer & Internet Security: A Hands-on Approach" (ISBN: 978-1733003933) so as long as you bought the book you were able to do the labs/not go to lecture/do well. Given the fact that most of the curriculum came straight from a textbook, I think Williams didn't do a lot to make this content anymore exciting than what I had hoped it was going to be. The last second test and final were open-note and through collab (due to COVID-19). They had more questions not found in the textbook and were considerably harder than the first exam, which was literally the multiple choice questions from our homework (which he gave the answers to).
This class was pretty poorly taught, as we were given lecture recordings that we couldn't speed up, and there was little communication from the professor about assignments, quizzes, and exams. I got an A and I learned a good amount, but this was by no means an enjoyable experience. However, the professor picked a great textbook with very useful examples, so he has that going for him.
