Frau Hudson means well, but her lectures are really outdated!!! It's hard to know what exactly she is looking for, but the class isn't hard, show her you are trying, and you'll be fine! It's up to the class to make it interesting, so participate!

Prof Hudson is knowledgeable and does her best to communicate that knowledge to the students, but her lectures are a bit outdated and tend to be boring. expect to read a lot and learn quite a bit of background history. there are several papers which increase in length throughout the semester, but the worst part is discussing your mistakes with her afterwards. it's demeaning in such a class and totally useless. try the other survey class 312

Hudson is very nice but not exactly one to get people excited about German lit (already a difficult task). Although her class is supposed to be discussion based, it was more lecture-like with pointed questions just to make sure everyone was awake. She grades pretty easily and is generally understanding...it's just sitting through the class itself that can occasionally feel insurmountably difficult.
