Frau Schenberg is literally the best. She sweetest most wholesome professor at UVA and genuinely wants us to learn German. Compared to other German professors, we did not depend on the textbook as much which I really liked. It was used as a way to practice and study, not as the sole resource for the class. Schenberg always made class entertaining and she was a joy to be around. You truly cannot go wrong taking her class.

Frau Schenberg is such a sweet professor! Teaching a language class online is really difficult, but Schenberg has made the most of it and been very understanding in light of the current situation. This was my first german course since high school, and I was slightly surprised by how easy the subject material was. There were 3 exams, of which the material was taken directly from homework assignments completed in previous weeks. There are short homework assignments due before each class, which take maybe half an hour, in addition to one blog post a week. This class doesn't require a ton of effort, but you still get speaking practice during class as its pretty interactive. But definitely take Schenberg if you get the chance!

I didnt really learn a lot from this class, but it was so so easy. Schenberg is also the sweetest so if you need extra time or help she will help you. She also brings candy to class a lot. The classes are pretty boring but the tests are really easy (even though there isnt really a study guide). You can def get an A+ in this class if you actually take some time on essays and go to extra credit events. Super minimal homework but she does check every week ish.
