The content was interesting, but the professor wasn't amazing, and neither were the lectures. I think the only thing getting me through the lectures were the videos and pictures Prof. Horn put in her slides. However, the slides were pretty difficult to read because they were on a black background with white and yellow lettering!!! Also, there is so much material, and she puts a lot of details on the slides. Reading the textbook is helpful if you want a greater understanding of the concepts, but your tests will 95% just be on the lectures, so study those and make sure you understand it all. The syllabus was not very accessible as it was a bit not concise and was pretty long with elaboration and detail... some of which was unnecessary... an introduction to her lectures.
A lot of these other reviews say that Prof. Horn is horrible and to not take this class with her if you can avoid it. I wouldn't go that far. Prof. Horn seems nice enough, but her lectures aren't the most conducive to student engagement and streamlined studying, so I think that is what the biggest challenge was for me. She isn't mean, and she isn't a very bad lecturer, she just isn't concise and doesn't speak very loudly, which is frustrating at times.
