This is absolutely one of the best classes you can take if you aren't a STEM major but have disciplines requirements to fulfill. Not only is Prof. Perrin super easy to understand and accessible if you need help, the class itself is incredibly relevant to virtually all academic disciplines that utilize research in any capacity. It also helps that the class only meets once a week, so it doesn't feel super consuming if the subject matter isn't something you're otherwise interested in. Overall great class, super engaging lectures, and not a total grind. #TCF2023
Professor Perrin was a great professor! The course set up was super accommodating- 4 exams, no cumulative final, 4 homeworks, 2 in class assignments and 2 extra credit, so there is a lot of opportunity to do well. Compared to other PSYC 2005 class reviews I've seen, Perrin truly wants his students to succeed and is very passionate about research and it translates through his teaching! He is an interactive and engaging professor, uses tons of examples and case studies from his personal experience from years of research, and he makes the 2.5 hour lectures fly by, even when the content can be difficult or not super interesting. I would definitely recommend taking this class with Perrin, especially if it is for your PSYC pre-req, because he teaches the content well and tests fairly, and gives many opportunities to improve your grade, and really engages with the class!
