Fall 2020 has been challenging for all students and professors. Dr. Moon made a good effort in trying to adapt the course to the online format. That was about the only good to be found in the course. Little to no learning took place in the actual class, all was done outside of it. What information that was given in the class often contradicted the readings or vice versa. Grading and expectations varied significantly between the TA and the Professor, and whoever graded your assignments strongly affected the grade in the course itself. Despite teaching "best practices" in assessments, they did not follow the practices they taught. This included grading transparency, and going so far as to sync grades with SIS before allowing students to view feedback on final portfolios. Having caught grading mistakes before this is especially concerning. I cannot recommend Dr. Moon as a professor, and I would recommend steering as wide a course from her as possible. This was one of the worst organized and most poorly taught courses I have taken at UVA, and is the greatest weakness in the teacher prep program. Maybe enough to keep the program from being recommended.
